Support e-Girls
Thank you very much for taking the time to consider supporting our Girls in Science Summer Camps. Over the past three years, 28 girls have attended our program; 18 of these more than once, either as junior mentors in the Beginning Day Camp or as participants at the Advanced Camp (new in 2008), funding provided by a grant from Science Foundation Arizona since 2007 provides basic program support, but many girls require financial assistance to be able to attend the camps.
We are counting on you, along with financial and volunteer support from community businesses, individuals, and NAU alumni, to insure the survival and growth of this exciting opportunity for Arizona girls interested in the sciences.
The accompanying brochure describes our re-named program: e-tools for Girls Investigating Real Life Sciences (e-GIRLS). The amount of technical information is doubling every two years; we need to train our future workforce to be adaptable to stay current in these fields.
By supporting this and future camps, you are assuring the success of these girls in this rapidly changing world and job market. We cannot rely solely on our educational institutions to meet our community needs in this difficult economic climate.
I need your help. This can be in the form of a financial gift and/or volunteering your time and expertise. On the attached sheet you can select from a range of opportunities. Please indicate your preference(s) and return it to us in the enclosed envelope. To donate on-line, please use the NAU Foundation website (http://naualumni.com/givetonau) and specify Account #5198 on the second line for “Gift Amount.” Your donations are not only vital to our sustainability, but they are tax deductible as well. Thank you for joining this worthy program that has impacted so many young lives already!
Sincerely,
Loretta P. Mayer, Ph.D.
